Six times the speed of sound passenger aircraft operating in hyperspace
Beijing: Chinese researchers are developing a hypersonic passenger plane that can travel six times faster than the Concorde.
A hypersonic passenger plane that can travel at speeds six times faster than the Concorde is being developed in China. With its remarkable speed, this cutting-edge aircraft, dubbed "Nankian Number 1," can travel wherever in the world in less than two hours.
The Future of Hypersonic Travel
This aircraft's prototype has undergone extensive testing at a lab located in the Chinese province of Fujian. The objective is to make progress toward a passenger aircraft that can travel at speeds over Mach 1 in the next ten years.
Following the successful first testing of the tiny prototype, preparations are underway for large-scale test flights in 2025.
